Lest we forget - flags at half mast for ANZAC Day Lest We ForgetIn memory of our fallen and to honour our veterans Sydney Olympic Park will observe the following flag protocol on ANZAC Day as requested by the Department of Premier & Cabinet.ANZAC Day is a day of special significance to all Australians, particularly the returned Veterans of Australia. All National and State flags on NSW Government buildings and establishments will be flown at half-mast from dawn until noon on Thursday 25 April 2013 and then raised to the peak of the mast for the remainder of the day. To lower a flag to half-mast is to lower the flag sufficiently to allow space for an imaginary flag to fly above the lowered flag. |
