Police Training Exercise - Olympic Park

NSW Police Training Exercise at Sydney Olympic Park
Wednesday 1 September

Residents are advised a NSW Police training exercise will take place at Sydney Olympic Park on Wednesday 1 September 2010, between 8am and 4pm.  The exercise is designed to test a range of emergency, public order and evacuation plans at Sydney Olympic Park and ANZ Stadium. 

The training exercise will simulate a public order incident inside the Stadium followed by a "mock" explosion.  There will be road closures and restricted access to areas within the Park, including:

• Olympic Boulevard will be closed between Dawn Fraser Avenue and Grand Parade between 2am and 6pm
• No public access to the northern and north eastern area immediately outside ANZ Stadium between 7am and 4pm

Rangers will patrol the area on the day to provide public assistance.
