V8 Works Week 4
9 to 15 November 2009
Works associated with the temporary overlay for the V8 Supercars continue.
Week 4 works will include:
Concrete Barriers & Debris Fence
- Commence barrier & debris fence installation along Dawn Fraser Ave (Between Olympic Boulevard and Showground Road).
- Commence barrier & debris fence installation along Murray Rose Ave, Park Street and Dawn Fraser Ave (between Park Street and Australia Avenue).
Pedestrian Bridges
- Complete span erection of Pedestrian Bridges 2 (Kevin Coombes Avenue/Olympic Boulevard) see road closure times below;
- Complete span erection of Pedestrian Bridge 4 (Dawn Fraser Avenue/Olympic Boulevard) see road closure times below;
- Commence stair erection on Pedestrian Bridge 5 & 6 (Showground
- Road);
- Commence stair erection on Pedestrian Bridge 7 (Australia Ave) Grandstands & Platforms
- Continue platform build (grandstand and corporate) along Dawn Fraser Avenue;
- Continue corporate structure at intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Edwin Flack Avenue;
- Continue grandstand build on Australia Ave (P6 Car Park)
- Continue erection of steel frame for pit building structure on Australia Avenue.
Road Closures
Monday 9 November
- 06:00 – 09:00 Dawn Fraser Avenue, between Edwin Flack Avenue and Olympic Boulevard;
- 06:00 – 24:00 Dawn Fraser Avenue, between Olympic Boulevard and Showground Road
- 10:00 – 12:00 Kevin Coombes Avenue, between Australia Avenue and Olympic Boulevard
During the week, there may be the need for additional traffic diversions to be in place throughout the precinct. At all times traffic management wardens will be in place to ensure the smooth passage of traffic.
