Road works on Bennelong Parkway

Auburn Council will be undertaking road works on Bennelong Parkway from Wednesday 9 May 2012, which will result in changed traffic conditions.

From this date, the following changes to traffic conditions will apply and are outlined on this downloadable map:

  • A 'One Way' traffic movement will be in place along Bennelong Parkway in the easterly direction from Hill Road intersection to Marjorie Jackson Parkway.
  • Westbound traffic (towards Wentworth Point) will be directed to detour along Marjorie Jackson Parkway, Kevin Coombs Avenue, Pondage Link and Hill Road.
  • During the progress of the work, 'No Stopping' restrictions will apply along Bennelong Parkway between Hill Road and Marjorie Jackson Parkway.
  • Vehicular access to residential blocks and car parks will be maintained during the progress of the works but all exiting traffic will be required to exit to the left in accordance with the 'One Way' arrangement mentioned previously.
  • Entry and exit to the  Archery Centre car park will be provided through the eastern driveway near the Haslam’s Creek Bridge. All other driveways to this carpark will be blocked during the progress of the work.

It is expected that the traffic arrangements mentioned above will be in place for a period of four (4) weeks, weather permitting. The above traffic restrictions are in accordance with the current Workcover and Roads and Maritime Services regulations that require Council to provide a safe working construction area enclosed by plated concrete barriers.

Auburn Council apologises for the inconvenience caused during the progress of the work.  All consideration will be given to ensure that a minimum disturbance is maintained during the progress of the work.
